In the final part of the “Poleska Chronicle” the action unfolds in the 30s of the 20th century. The relationship between Anna and Bashlakov comes to the forefront of the novel. However, such a simple desire to love and be with a dear person runs into the harsh framework of class and ideological struggle, the impossibility of building a private life under the conditions of a totalitarian system.
