The book shows the birth and formation of civil activism in Belarus and the personality of Ales Bialiatski as one of its most prominent representatives. It reveals to the reader Belarus, which continues to fight for the truth, human rights, for its culture and independence. The publication uses Bialiatski’s memoirs, published in his various books, publications in periodicals, speeches at conferences, in courts, written in free letters, in numerous interviews with Belarusian and foreign media. The book also contains the statements of Ales’ associates. This is a dialogue with him, a tribute to our friend and colleague, an opportunity to say “thank you”. This is our cry “Long live Belarus!” shouted from behind the prison walls, to which we will hear the unchanging answer “Long live!” – firm, with a calm and confident smile.
