Valentina Aksak’s new book is born on the painful paths of a forced wanderer. The personal pain of an exile from her home is many times intensified by the tragedy of those imprisoned and tortured in prisons at home. The war of occupation beyond its southern borders does not leave the author any hope for a safe return. And yet, the leitmotif of the book is the poet’s order to herself: to live life to the fullest! Valentina Aksak comes from the village of Smalichy, in the Niasvizh region. Lives in Minsk. I have a diploma in history and experience as a journalist. She has published books of poetry “Cemetery”, “Chapel”, “Ancient Rain”, “Wine from California”, “Rozhovnitsa”, “Wild Plum”, “Waved Paradise”, “Coffee in the Eagle’s Nest”, “Third Eden”. Her poems were published in translations into Swedish, German, Danish, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, French, Ukrainian, English, Romanian, Finnish, Spanish.
