This novel was written for 12 years – in Minsk, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich and Vilnius. I carried him with me like my dreams. Moscow of the 2000s. A city where staggering money swirls and steely tempers rule. Where man exists in the coordinates of subordination and temptation, where will is most often the will to power. The main character, an émigré teacher from Belarus, falls into a whirlwind of trials that force him to understand anew why giving up individual freedom is so sweet. This text should be read in order to feel and understand the energies behind many events in the post-Soviet space in the last 30 years.
